It was really obvious what was going on with Optimus’
transmission in comic #452. The upgraded Mini-Megs being able to completely
destroy parts of the universe, as seen in comic #453, was used once and quickly
forgotten. There were of course in-story reasons that could explain it (which
we’ll see later) but an outright explanation was never provided.
