Letting Maxi-Megs join up with the Autobots just didn’t seem
like the type of thing Optimus would allow in ANY setting, even a silly comic
like this. I’m glad I decided to dedicate an entire comic to the topic, since
it provided closure for one aspect of the story while opening doors for
something I had planned coming up soon.
While looking back at this, in panel 6 I do think I
intended for Optimus to tell Bumblebee that the reason the door big allowing
him to go in and out of the forcefield was so that he could visit Maxi-Megs and
keep him docile so he wouldn’t attempt to break free. That would have answered
Bumblebee’s question asked in the previous panel a little better.
