I had everything for the story completely finished
when I realized something big I had planned would happen in strip #149…since
I’m near-OCD about having big events line up with milestone numbers I threw in
this comic to push everything back one number. It’s not a BAD comic per se, but
it really didn’t flow or have much to do with the goal of the story. I think I
made it work out alright, but reading the entire story in one sitting now this
particular comic almost seems more like a detour or speed bump to the eventual
destination. Naturally Hot Shot’s ‘plastic surgery’ was nothing more than a
visual gag based on Hound’s story relevance response to Cliffjumper.
